Women with a fertility problem are often asked by the Gynecologist to get follicular study done. This is a transvaginal ultrasound study which is done serially over several days. The ovaries and endometrium are examined to look for follicular growth and rupture and also to estimate the quality of the endometrium using certain parameters. This helps the gynecologist time the intra-uterine insemination or advise coitus. This is also a crucial part of an IVF programme.
